The greater grail awoke and begun to attack. Rin got defeated as she could not bring herself to kill sakura. With help from rider, shirou stabbed saber. Dark saber let rin meet sakura while holding back shirou and rider. Shirou, rin and rider headed out to find sakura. Knowing shirou's plan, rider confronted him later that night and was convinced to help him. Illya showed shirou past of holy grail period to get the sword. Rin told shirou to get the sword that would defeat sakura.
Illya told them of the information of holy grail war and avenger whom sakura would create. Sakura killed him but suffered from darkness released from berserker's death. Sakura confronted kotomine who was dead actually 10 years ago. Dark saber turned up but left due to sakura's calling. Berserker regained his consciousness before he vanished, asking shirou to protect illya. Other place, shirou decided to use archer's arm to protect illya from dark berserker. Kotomine fought the assassin so shirou and illya could escape. Lllya's servants allowed them take her away.
Kotomine and shirou broke into lllya's room. Kotomine healed rin and aided him after shirou went to him for help. Rider saved shirou from sakura's attack and was prepared to stop her but dark sabre killed her. She attacked illya next but rin stopped her. Zouken had sakura evolved after the latter killed shinji.
